The Youth on Air program was delivered by the City of Greater Dandenong Youth and Family Services in 2024.
The ‘Youth on Air’ crew are a group of young people (aged 15-25 years) who have created a series of three podcasts, discussing and exploring topics that are relevant to young people. Youth on Air aims to provide a new way of accessing information and engaging young people in discussion.
Beyond Highschool – What’s Next? (26 minutes)
Join us as three young people share their unique experiences of studying – from high school to TAFE and university – in a discussion about what has helped them succeed and the challenges they’ve faced. This episode also features insights from a special guest: a local careers counsellor, who offers valuable guidance on how young people can navigate this critical phase of life.
Artificial Intelligence: Present to Future (23 minutes)
In this episode, we dive into the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on young people’s daily life. Four young voices share their perspectives on the advantages and challenges they’ve encountered with AI, as well as its potential to shape their futures. A special guest, a senior lecturer, joins the conversation to provide expert insights into AI’s development and where it’s headed, offering a deeper understanding of its role in the current landscape.
Culture Shock (27 minutes)
Have you ever experienced culture shock or wondered what it truly means? In this episode, three young people share their personal stories, insights, and experiences, taking listeners on an exploration of ‘Culture Shock’. Joined by a special guest who has migrated to Australia, they provide an authentic view on adapting to new cultures and navigating the surprises and challenges along the way.
