Divergent Drama is a 9-week drama program for neurodivergent young people aged 12 – 18 to learn new skills, make friends and share their experiences within the community.

Participants will build drama skills through theatre-based games and activities, and create a short performance piece (monologue, short scene) telling their own unique story.

The program will end with a ‘celebration night’, where filmed versions of the short performance pieces will be screened for friends and family.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be aged 12 - 18 years old (primary school students not eligible)
  • Live, study, work, or have a significant connection to the City of Greater Dandenong
  • Identify as neurodivergent (formal diagnosis not required)
  • Able to participate independently in a two-hour program, once per week
  • Interested in creating a short piece of theatre sharing your story

Supported by the Australian Government Department of Social Services.
