Get ready for an afternoon of sport, music, and fun at Game On and Mic Up, a free Victorian Youth Week event for young people aged 12-25 years.

Join us for soccer and basketball clinics, live entertainment and opportunities to showcase your talent.

On the day, you can:

  • Join in on a soccer clinic with Melbourne City Football Club or participate in a basketball clinic
  • Listen to live DJ performances by the Amplify Youth Committee
  • Enjoy a free BBQ
  • Watch or perform at the open mic performance session
  • Meet other young people from across Greater Dandenong

Whether you're keen to play some sports, perform in front of a crowd or just hang out with friends, there's plenty happening throughout the day.

This event is proudly created by young people, for young people, with the Amplify Youth Committee helping run the show on the day.

Open Mic Information

How to register
If you'd like to perform at the open mic, register online here by getting a ticket for Game On and Mic Up, and let us know you're interested to perform on stage. On the day, head to the registration desk from 11.30am to check in. Performance spots are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Who can perform?
All performance styles are welcome, including singing, rapping, spoken word, poetry, comedy and instrumentals. Please note that drum kits are not permitted.

Performance length
Each performer will have up to 5 minutes on stage.

Equipment provided
The following equipment will be available:

  • Microphone and microphone stand
  • Acoustic-electric guitar
  • Keyboard
  • Frontline audio equipment

Professional sound technicians will be on-site throughout the event to assist performers and help ensure everything runs smoothly. You're welcome to bring your own equipment if not listed above.

Sports Clinics Information

Soccer Clinic
Delivered by Melbourne City Football Club, the soccer clinic will feature skill-building drills, coaching tips and fun games designed to help participants improve their technique and enjoy the game.

Basketball Clinic
Take part in basketball drills, skill development activities and games that focus on teamwork, coordination and having fun on the court.

All skill levels welcome
Whether you're trying the sport for the first time or already play regularly, everyone is encouraged to join in.

What to wear and bring
Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and enclosed footwear suitable for physical activity. Football boots with spikes are not permitted. 

Bring a refillable drink bottle. Refill stations are available on site.
